Privacy notice
Last updated: 20 October 2026
StuffWatch isn't live yet. Right now this website only runs a waitlist. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect and why.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist we store:
- your email address,
- the date and time you signed up, and
- your country, only if you choose one (it's optional).
That's it. We don't ask for your name, and we don't use advertising or tracking cookies. To slow down spam, we briefly keep a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for about 10 minutes to count sign-up attempts. We never store your IP address itself.
Why we collect it
To email you occasional updates and launch news about StuffWatch, which you agreed to when you ticked the box. The country helps us decide which countries' recalls and rules to support first. We don't sell or rent your email address to anyone.
Where it's stored
The website and the waitlist run on Cloudflare. The waitlist itself is stored in a Cloudflare D1 database located in Western Europe (EU). Because Cloudflare runs a global network, your sign-up request may pass through, and be briefly processed in, Cloudflare data centres in other countries (including the United States) on its way to that database. When we start sending emails we'll use an email delivery provider, and we'll update this page to name it before we do.
We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and doesn't track you across sites, to count page visits.
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until we close the waitlist.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe anytime using the link in any email we send.
- Ask for a copy, a correction, or deletion of your data by emailing doris+stuffwatch@mail.grokbot.com.
- If you're in the EU, UK or Switzerland, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Who we are
The controller responsible for your data is Tim Sutton, self-employed, Ebikon (LU), Switzerland. Contact: doris+stuffwatch@mail.grokbot.com.
When the full app launches (with receipts, photos and your items), we'll publish an updated, fuller privacy notice before collecting any of that.
