StuffWatch

StuffWatch is made in Switzerland and tracks every date on the things you own, not just warranties. Snap a receipt and it reads the product, shop, date and price. Then it emails you before the return window closes and before the warranty ends.

It also does what the other apps here don't mention:

You can try one receipt scan before you sign in, and sign-in is just your email address. There's nothing to install. It runs in any browser in English, German, French and Italian, and you can add it to your home screen. There are no tracking ads and your data is never sold. Receipt photos are read and then deleted, not stored, so keep your own copy for a claim.

Free covers 10 things, 3 contracts, 10 food items and 10 photo scans a month. Pro costs CHF 3.90 a month or CHF 36 a year (US$3.99 or US$39) and makes it all unlimited.

Good to know: there's no native app yet, and reminders come by email.

Slipcrate

Slipcrate is built just for warranties, and it does that job well. Snap a receipt (even a crumpled or faded one, or one forwarded from your inbox) and its AI reads the brand, product, purchase date and warranty length. You check the fields before saving.

It runs in any modern browser on phone, tablet and desktop. There are no App Store or Play Store apps yet. Sign-in is with Google. There's one plan with everything in it: US$4.99 a month or US$29.99 a year, billed through Lemon Squeezy and cancellable from Settings. There's no free plan or free trial.

Choose it if you want your receipt photos stored with your warranties and you already use Google Calendar.

Slipcrate or StuffWatch? Both read receipts with AI and remind you before a warranty ends. Slipcrate keeps your receipt photos and uses Google Calendar. StuffWatch emails you and also covers return windows, recalls, contract cancel-by dates and food dates. It has a free plan and works in four languages, but it doesn't keep receipt photos.

Warranty Keeper

A simple, free warranty app for iPhone and Android, with unlimited items. Sign up with email or Google, add an item and photograph the proof of purchase. Everything is backed up to the cloud. You get a push notification 30 days before a warranty ends.

You can add more than one receipt to an item, make your own categories, and sort by expiry date, purchase date or name. You can download a receipt or share it with family, and there's a dark theme. The listing doesn't mention reading receipts for you, so expect to type the details in.

Choose it if you want a free warranty list in a phone app and don't mind typing the details.

TrackWarranty

A free Android app. It reads your bill and reminds you 30, 7 and 1 day before cover ends. It works offline without an account, and it can bundle the invoice, serial number and dates into a one-tap claim kit. It also has a shared household vault. iOS is listed as coming soon.

Choose it if you're on Android and want everything on your phone.

Warranto

An iPhone app for warranties and receipts. Pro adds AI receipt scanning and voice entry. It reminds you 30, 7 and 1 day before expiry and can sync dates to your calendar. The free plan covers 4 warranties, typed in.

Choose it if you're on iPhone and want a low-cost Pro plan.

ecohome

A free home inventory for iPhone, Android and the web, with warranty reminders built in. You can forward receipt emails to it, snap items with your camera, and share it with your household.

Choose it if you want a full list of everything in your home, not just the dates.

Which one is for you?

Whichever you pick, keep the receipt. In Switzerland the legal warranty is 2 years from delivery. See Warranty rules in Switzerland and return rights in the EU and Switzerland.
