# StuffWatch

> StuffWatch (https://stuffwatch.app) is a web app, coming soon, that helps people keep track of the things they own. You snap a photo of a receipt or an item, and StuffWatch logs the product, purchase date and price, tracks warranty and return windows, sends maintenance reminders, alerts you to product recalls, and finds the official manual. It is global and English-first.

Status: pre-launch. The site currently offers a waitlist only. There are no users, reviews or pricing to report yet.

## What StuffWatch does (planned for launch)
- Receipt and item photo logging: reads product, store, purchase date and price from a photo.
- Warranty length: if the warranty length isn't on the receipt, the user sets it (1, 2 or 5 years, or a custom length).
- Warranty and return-window reminders before deadlines.
- Maintenance reminders (e.g. descaling, filter changes, smoke-alarm tests) on adjustable schedules.
- Recall alerts matched against items you own, from official sources in the US, EU, UK, Canada and Australia, always linking to the official notice.
- Manual finder that links to official manufacturer manuals.
- Later: "What's it worth?" resale value estimates.
- Later: contracts, insurance and subscriptions (notice periods, renewal dates, cancel deadlines).
